School Board Policies
Moon Area School District Board of Education is a legal body created by the statutes of the commonwealth. Board members are state officials receiving their responsibilities and powers through state law. Individual board members have no authority over school affairs as individuals but have authority, within the law, over school affairs when they serve as a legal body. In all cases where the state laws do not provide or prohibit, the board is considered the agent responsible for establishing and appraising educational activities. In general, the board is responsible for policy making, with the advice of the superintendent, and for the evaluation of policies.
