Brooks and Hyde Elementary Schools worked in collaboration with both Junior Achievement (JA) and education majors from Robert Morris University (RMU) on Tuesday, April 11 to deliver a fun-filled day focused on economic success.
RMU students worked in the elementary classrooms for the day to facilitate JA activities that provide a mission to empower youth with hands-on learning towards economic readiness.
Today's activities throughout various grade levels focused on entrepreneurship. Students in Miss Kocis' fourth grade class selected which entrepreneur traits they identify with. Mrs. Kephart's first grade students learned what an entrepreneur was and played a game that identifies different entrepreneur career paths.
Both elementary students and student teachers benefit from the classroom experience. Students had fun with hands-on activities and student teachers receive elementary classroom experience with guidance from the Moon Area faculty.
