Moon Area School District is spreading the love this Valentine's Day.
Bon Meade Elementary staff and students started a campaign to raise money for the American Heart Association in mid-January. Through the purchase of lanyards, t-shirts, and generous donations at the Valentine's Dance on February 10, the school raised $2,835.00!
On January 6, Moon Area Middle School's 7th grade gathered for a fun-filled day. Students played a variety of games such as "Let's Make a Deal" and a 100-person volleyball game. In addition, students also created 300 Valentine's Day cards for the West Hills Nursing Home. The Valentine's cards will be handed out to residents during lunch and dinner on February 14. The 7th graders filled the cards with kind sentiments for the West Hills Nursing Home members.
Elementary schools celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday, February 10. First graders in Miss Rothermel's class at Hyde Elementary sat quietly as they had a fruit and friendship snack with a story featuring Love, Splat by Rob Scotton. Afterwards, sutdents enjoyed their Valentine's party by playing Bingo, decorating gift bags, and exchanging Valentine's Day cards.
McCormick Elementary also celebrated on Friday, February 10. The kindergarteners would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!
