The Moon Area High School (MAHS) Biology Department will be hosting a biology Keystone "Kram" Session on Thursday, May 18 from 2:20 - 4 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The event serves as further preparation for the exam, which biology students will take on May 22.
The biology department has been hard at work planning stations for each of the thirty-eight eligible content areas for the exam, giving students a 2-5 minute review of the concepts that they have spent this year studying. Students will have the opportunity to visit each of the stations to complete the review.
Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided at the study session. Students who complete all the stations will have a chance to win raffle prizes. Late bus passes will be provided, or students may walk or get a ride home. At the close of the event, students will be given some extra review materials and a list of study tips.
The MAHS Biology Department does not believe that cramming is the most effective study method, so students also have the opportunity to attend Biology Remediation to work with a teacher on any content area for which they feel they need help. Biology Remediation meets in room 133 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays before school from 6:30-7:15, and after school from 2:20-3:50. They are welcome to drop in whenever they wish, and we would be glad to give them some extra help.
