Quote from Coach: “We have a team of excellent gymnasts as evident by all the individual medalists we have. Moon does not rely on one or two girls to carry the team – they all contribute and are many times interchangeable in those spots. That's how we've achieved the consistency in our sport. The girls set their goal at the beginning of season to ‘Make it Happen’ and I'm so proud of them for accomplishing what they set out to do as a team!”
- Coach Amy Caprino
The boys basketball team has been sweeping championship titles, leading them to the PIAA Class 5A Playoffs. The boys’ next game will be this Friday, March 10 against Franklin Regional at 6 p.m. at Plum High School.
The boys have already claimed section and WPIAL championship titles. This season was the first time the team has made it to WPIAL championships since 2008. Players have also received their own individual recognition this season. Jarrod Simmons was named the 5A Section 2 Player of the Year and Nick Castleveter was named 1st Team All-Section.
Quote from Coach: “I'd just like to mention that it has been so much fun coaching all the players who have worked really hard and how exciting it was to see so many community members at our games. The WPIAL championship game showed our players determination and resiliency. “
- Coach Tony DiFiore
Quote from Coach: “We have had a great season to this point, winning the section championship and now the WPIAL championship. I couldn't be happier or prouder of the guys for all the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the season. We have a great senior class, and it's nice that we can send them off in this fashion!”
