Five Teams Advance to State Odyssey of the Mind Tournament


Thirteen teams from Moon Area School District (MASD) competed in the Western PA Odyssey of the Mind (OM) Tournament on Saturday, March 4, 2017. 

Odyssey of the Mind is an international problem-solving competition where students use their creativity and logic to answer a variety of long-term and spontaneous problems. 

Teams were entered from all ages, from primary division to high school division.  Five teams earned an opportunity to advance to the state finals held at MASD on Saturday, April 1. 

The state competition brings thousands of people to Moon Township as teams muster all their creatitvity to win their way to the world finals. 

The following teams will be competing in April at the state tournament:

Problem 1 Div III - 1st Place: Catch Us if You Can

Problem 5 Div III - 1st Place: To Be Continued: A Superhero Cliffhanger

Middle School (Grades 5-7) -  2nd Place: Balsa Build

4th Grade Students - 2nd Place: Odd-a-Bot
