Juniors Tyler Farr and Nick Ulven were recently accepted to participate in summer economic leadership programs.
Tyler Farr earned a full scholarship to participate in the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week 2017 (PFEW), which will be held in Williamsport, PA. During his week in Williamsport, Farr will form student companies with other participants and compete against one another. Students will have business mentors to help them confront decisions professionals face on a daily basis.
Students in the program will learn about the free market, economics, private enterprise systems, ethics, and much more. Participants will also hear from renowned business professionals during seminars.
Farr was also accepted into the Economics for Leaders (EFL) program at Cornell University while Nick Ulven was accepted to the EFL program at the University of California, Berkeley.
The program hones in on economic thinking and is fueled with hands-on learning and applying concepts to real-life scenarios. EFL is sponsored by the Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE). According to EFL, the goal of the program is to prepare and educate the next generation of economic trailblazers for the benefit of our society.
Congratulations, Tyler and Nick!
