Moon Area High School freshman, Cara Leonardi, received the 2019 Luminari Award in late February.

Leonardi earned the award after submitting an essay to receive a scholarship to attend the I Want to be an Ambassador! camp in Pittsburgh this June.
Her winning essay focused on her goal to make an impact on the nation by becoming the first female president of the US. In her essay, Leonardi explains that her interest in the camp stems from her desire to make others feel included.
