McCormick Elementary principal, Dr. Julie Moore, was selected to join a cohort of local school administrators for the Western PA-School Retool Application.
This focus group is a collaborative effort with the Stanford University d.school and Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU). School Retool is supported locally by the Grable Foundation.
The group of educators is composed of principals, curriculum directors, and superintendents. The three-month professional development fellowship aimed to prepare students for life outside of school.
“It’s an honor to serve on a panel of distinguished and dedicated educators actively working in the Allegheny County area,” Dr. Moore said.
Participants attend a series of workshops, receive specialized coaching, and learn creative ways to improve learning.
“We are implementing, integrating, and exploring innovative approaches to education while thinking creatively to improve and offer new opportunities within our counties,” Dr. Moore said of the experience.
“It a wonderful opportunity to share our Moon Area School District accomplishments as well as learning new pathways to support our students, staff, and parents,” said Dr. Moore.
