The Moon Area High School (MAHS) marching band has begun preparing for the 2018 fall marching season.
The band began their season with mini-camps for each section from July 10-13, 2018, and a home band camp was held at MAHS July 23-27.
From July 29 - August 3, the students packed their bags and instruments and traveled to Washington and Jefferson College for an intense week of camp, culminating with a "Parents Performance" at the close of camp on Friday, August 3.
Note even a week later on August 8, the band enjoyed the day at Kennywood Park and performed later that evening in the Fall Fantasy Parade.
All of the band's preparation will soon be showcased this fall. The MAHS marching band will participate in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band (PIMBA) Competition circuit this season in the largest band classification AAAA (4A). The band will travel and compete at Kiski Area High School on September 8, Norwin High School on October 6, Deer Lakes High School on October 20, as well as hosting the PIMBA Championships on October 27 at MAHS Tiger Stadium.
The band will also travel to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, on October 13 for the Bands of America Regional Championship Competition. The band is a two-time class champion at this regional competition.
Best of luck to the marching band! We can't wait to see all you accomplish this season!
