Bon Meade Students Explore Career Paths During Career Week

Bon Meade Elementary celebrated Career week May 13-17, 2019. Students in grades K-4 explored a variety of career paths.

Each day of the week presented a new opportunity for students to engage in the exciting discovery of occupations.

On Monday, 3rd and 4th grade students learned about careers in the science, technology, engineering, art, and math fields.

Students participated in Community Helpers Career Day on Tuesday. Police officers and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) taught students in grades K-2 the value of those who help the community and their roles. Students also had an opportunity to participate in a question and answer session.

Bon Meade Career Fair DayWednesday, Animal Friends came to meet with the students and introduced Molly, their therapet. The Bon Meade Emotional Support classroom also collected funds to support their therapet program. 

On Thursday, students were able to express what they want to be when they grow up or where they want to go to college with college and/or career dress up day.

To close out Career Week, students in K-4 partook in the Career Fair. Many different parents and local businesses volunteered their time to demonstrate and explain their professions to students in both the classrooms and gymnasium. Careers represented include nurse, musician, NFL scout, artist, parks and recreation, nuclear engineer, entrepreneur, zoologist, pilot, police officer, videographer, among others!
