Kindergarten students in Ms. Lamb’s class at J.H. Brooks Elementary School learned about Patriot’s Day on September 11, 2024.
We understand that with recent tragic events, such as the school shooting in Atlanta and other incidents across the country, concerns about school safety are elevated. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority, and we want to reassure you that the Moon Area School District is deeply committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
In partnership with the Moon Area School District, the Moon Township Police Department invites the adult public of school-aged children to a Safety Night on September 26 at 6 pm at the Moon Area High School Auditorium.
Hyde Elementary School third grade students kicked off the school year with a fun 3D Team Challenge!
Not all pets like the rain, so students were challenged to design an umbrella for their favorite pet! They worked as teams of scientists and engineers, researching ideas, investigating solutions, and improving their designs.
Dr. Kazmierczak, Allard Elementary Principal, and the Allard staff began the 2024-2025 school year by participating in a bee themed PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) staff activity aimed at getting everyone buzzing with excitement and positive energy for the start of the school year. Staff shared, in small groups, how they are going to “bee the inspiration” for the students of Allard during the 2024-2025 school year.
Seventh grade Hawks student competed in constructing a paper airplane in Mrs. Broderick’s science class.
With limited materials available for use, the students had to use their communication skills and prior knowledge to make a great airplane. The winners for the contest were Lailah Metzler and Aubrey Pachero with their plane soaring 18.3 feet.
