This fall, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania released building-level scores for every public school in the state. The scores reflect the school’s performance according to the Future Ready PA Index, which rates schools on their achievement and growth.
We are proud to share that McCormick Elementary School achieved a score of 95.7/100, which makes them the highest scoring elementary school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Dear Moon Area School District Community:
As I reflect on the past year and look ahead to 2023, I feel very fortunate to be a part of such an incredible school community. Despite facing several challenges, 2022 has been a great year. I’m proud of all that we have accomplished together.
Moon High School partnered with the Moon Area Police Department & Dr. Elizabeth Zona to facilitate and assembly titled “One Pill Can Kill.”
This presentation is designed to support and educate our students in making positive and healthy life choices. In the United States, drug overdoses killed over 300 Americans a day in 2021. Unfortunately, the number of Americans involved between the ages of 14-18 has gone up significantly in recent years.
Thank you to the Moon Area Police Department and Dr. Zona, MASD alumna, for making this important assembly possible.
Mrs. McCullough's 4th grade classes at Bon Meade Elementary School participated in a fun learning opportunity related to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
McCormick Elementary kindergarten students have been very busy turkeys over the past few weeks.
They learned about the first Thanksgiving and how the Pilgrims and Native Americans lived during that time period. Then the kindergarten students made their own butter. To end the unit as a culminating activity, they all sat down for a Thanksgiving feast.
