Arrival and Dismissal Procedures 2019-2020

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We appreciate your support and attentiveness with following these procedures and recommended safety guidelines for an orderly arrival and dismissal.

The school day for students is from 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Students being DRIVEN to school are permitted to arrive at 8:05 a.m.  The main lobby ‘Student Drop-Off’ area will not be open prior to that time.  All doors will be closed at 8:30 a.m.  Students may only enter through these doors. Our goal is to have students report to school on time, so they arrive promptly to their designated morning location. If your child arrives after 8:30 a.m., please report to the main office with your child to sign in.  Parents/guardians need to escort their child to the office in order to sign in.

The front parking lot is used for Moon Area School District (MASD) buses, vans, and car rider morning drop-off between the hours of 8:05 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Please allow space for MASD buses and vans to drop off directly in front of the main office.

During morning drop-off, CAR RIDERS are asked to enter the parking lot from Shafer Road, keep to the right, and follow the traffic flow to the main lobby.  An Allard staff member will be present for student drop off at the main lobby. For safety and efficiency purposes in the car line, please refrain from parking and walking your child to the door. Please also refrain from using a cell phone during drop-off.  For the safety of our students, please have your child exit from the passenger side onto the walkway.

Please drive safely in all parking areas and roads; refrain from cell phone usage; and follow the directions of staff members.

Afternoon dismissal begins promptly at 3:15 p.m. Buses and vans will be parked around the bus loop in the front of the building. Cars are NOT permitted to park in the bus loop. If you are parked in the bus loop, you will be asked to move your car to a parking space.

If a child is being picked up at dismissal time, parents are to report to the main lobby doors no later than 3:15 p.m. Staff members will be there to take your child’s name and check your identification. If you are unable to arrive by 3:15 p.m., and you know ahead of time that you will picking up your child at dismissal, please be sure to send a note to the teacher indicating that you will be picking him/her up at dismissal or call the office by 3:15 p.m. so that your child will not be placed on his/her bus.  Please always bring your valid driver’s license with you.  Anyone picking up your child from school must also bring a valid driver’s license and be listed on the online emergency form and car rider pick-up form. The car rider pickup form will be sent home on the first day of school.
