Dear J.H. Brooks Families:
The COVID-19 Pandemic has certainly presented our educational institutions and society with unique challenges. J.H. Brooks elementary school is excited to welcome back our K-4 students to our building on October 5, 2020. Our staff across Moon Area School District have been working diligently to ensure that students are setup for success.
Although there have been significant changes in education, we are determined to adapt and conform to what is best to serve our students and Moon Area community.
The safety of our students, staff, and community continues to be at the forefront of our planning. We continue to seek guidance from the CDC, the PA Department of Health and the PA Department of Education. We have enhanced our hygiene, cleaning, and social distancing protocols.
Beginning on October 5, 2020, elementary students will have the opportunity to return to school for in-person instruction four days a week.

In preparation for student return, we ask families to complete the questionnaire that was emailed to them no later than Tuesday, September 22, 2020 by noon.
More detailed information will be shared with families the week of September 21 to ensure a safe and orderly routine for students and staff. This will include health and safety protocols for the classroom, lunch, playground and school bus, arrival and dismissal procedures, facial covering requirements and more.
Working together, teachers, students, and families build a strong school and Moon Area community. We appreciate your support as our staff and students journey through these unique times.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me or your child’s teacher with any questions you may have about your child during this transitional period.
Best,
Lucas Furlow
Principal
