Inclement Weather Delay/Closing Notification Procedure

Dear Families:  

While Moon Area School District students are learning virtually, we may still have to delay or cancel our transportation services to private schools due to inclement weather. If this happens, we will post an alert on our website. We will also post the information to our local news stations (WPXI, WTAE, KDKA). We will NOT send a call or an email to families. In addition, we will NOT post this information to social media. 

When we are operating in our virtual model, we will not cancel virtual classes for MASD students who are learning remotely. 

When Moon Area School District students are learning in our hybrid model or learning in person five days a week, we will share delay/closing messages in the following ways:  

  • Post an alert to our website.  
  • Post to the local news stations (WPXI, WTAE, KDKA) 
  • Post to social media (@MoonAreaSD on Twitter and Instagram)
  • Send a call and an email.
