The Moon Area School District is offering currently enrolled K-6 students a summer remediation opportunity.
*If you completed this form in April and received a confirmation email last week, you do not need to complete this form again. The only update since that time is the K-6 program will be hosted at Brooks Elementary School. Thanks!
The in-person learning program will operate from 9AM-12PM Monday through Thursday during four weeks in June/July (dates listed below). There will be no cost for students to attend. Lunch will be included at no charge, and the district will provide transportation. Bus transportation pick-up locations may be altered from traditional bus stop locations for efficiency purposes.
Once you use the form to enroll your child, you will receive confirmation including a bus schedule. You may enroll more than one child through this survey, or you can complete multiple surveys. The district asks that enrolled students attend the entire four-week program as content will build throughout the timeframe provided. However, MASD recognizes that families may take a summer vacation, and vacations are acceptable absences. MASD simply wants to discourage inconsistent attendance throughout the program for continuity of planning.
Please register as soon as possible to secure your child's spot.
The program will take place at Brooks Elementary School. The dates and times are listed below.
- June 21 - June 24 (Monday - Thursday, 9AM-12PM)
- June 28 - July 1 (Monday - Thursday, 9AM-12PM) *There will be no remediation program taking place the week of July 5th.
- July 12 - July 15 (Monday - Thursday, 9AM-12PM)
- July 19 - July 22 (Monday - Thursday, 9AM-12PM)
The K-6 summer program will emphasize remediation efforts in English/Language Arts and Mathematics for current grade levels. For example, Grade 4 students will take part in remediation efforts to strengthen Grade 4 content. This program is geared towards remediation for all K-6 learners. It is not intended for credit recovery, and credits will not be issued towards grade promotion through this program.
*MASD's summer remediation program is open to all students in grades K-6; however, this program will NOT replace MASD's annual Extended School Year (ESY) services for qualifying special education students. As communicated in previous years, those families with a qualifying ESY student will receive direct notification and ESY details from MASD's special education department, and those families should not complete this form.
If you do not want to enroll your child at this time, simply exit from the survey. You may return at any time before the registration deadline date to enroll your student(s). Thank you!
