Brooks 3rd Graders Research Historical Figures for President's Day, Black History Month

President's Day

Brooks Elementary 3rd grade students in Mrs. DeCecco's social studies class celebrated President's Day this week with a class project.

Each student was assigned a president or first lady as part of a research project. The classroom was transformed to represent the White House where the students revealed their historical character! Classmates had to figure out which president or first lady the students portrayed.

Mrs. DeCecco's class also researched famous African Americans for Black History Month.

Each morning, two 3rd graders share a short biography of an influential African American over the morning announcements so that all of Brooks can learn more about these important historical figures.

Mrs. DeCecco said the students had fun learning and enjoyed the research projects!
