MAHS Cheerleaders Raise Over $4K for Magee Women's Cancer Center

Pink Out Game

This fall, the Moon Area cheerleaders raised $4,100 for the Magee Women's Cancer Center and presented the organization with the check at the October 4, 2019, Pink Out football game.

Prior to the game and check presentation, the cheerleaders and football players honored both cancer fighters and survivors on the field as October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Proceeds will be placed into the Magee Patient Care Fund, which provides the Women’s Cancer Center with necessary funds to help patients who do not have full insurance coverage for everything they need to get well.

The donation will help to provide items not covered by most insurance companies, which includes wigs for those enduring chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments; emergency lodging for family members of patients; medications; special bras after mastectomy; transportation for appointments; and much more based on individual need.
