MAHS Marching Band Prepares for Upcoming Fall 2019 Season

Band Practice 2019

The Moon Area High School (MAHS) marching band has begun preparing for the 2019 fall marching season.

Practice began mid-summer with mini-camps for each division of the band at the end of July with all members attending a home band camp from July 29 through August 2, 2019.

At the start of August, the band students packed their bags and instruments and traveled to Washington and Jefferson College for a busy week of camp, culminating with a performance for the parents at the close of camp on Friday, August 9.

The MAHS Marching Band will participate in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band (PIMBA) Competition circuit this season in the largest band classification AAAA (4A).  The band will travel to Norwin High School on September 14, 2019 to compete in a competition and will later participate in the PIMBA Championships on October 26, 2019, at Gateway High School.

The Tigers will welcome competitors to Tiger Stadium on October 12 as the MAHS Band Parents Organization host a PIMBA show. After the home competition, the band will travel to Fortress Obetz Athletic Complex Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Obetz, Ohio, on September 28 for the annual Bands of America Central Ohio Regional Championship Competition.  The band is two-time class champion at this regional competition and three-time, top-ten finalist.  Bands from Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, and Pennsylvania will be represented at the competition.
