Two MAHS Students Receive Community Impact Award from PAACC

Community Impact Award

Two Moon Area High School (MAHS) seniors received the 2018 Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (PAACC) Community Impact Award in the youth category.

Twins Austin and Connor Ryan were nominated by Moon Township for the variety of ways the two serve their school, church, and community.

The Ryan brothers mentor freshman, lead a bible study, counsel at a summer camp, assist the elderly, initiated a winter clothing drive, and coordinated a dance fundraiser for those with special needs.

In addition to their philanthropic work, Austin and Conner excel both academically and athletically. The brothers are both members of the National Honor Society, High Honor Roll, and the Westinghouse Science Honors Institute.

Connor is a four-year varsity basketball letterman for the Tigers and was named to the 2017-2018 First Team All-Section and is also a letterman of the track team.

Austin is a three-year varsity basketball letterman at MAHS and was also named to the First Team All-Section while being a two-year letterman on the baseball team.

Moon Area School District congratulates the academic, athletic, social, and philanthropic efforts of the Ryan brothers and the positive impact they make in the community.
