To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 throughout our community this spring, Moon Area School District closed its facilities for public use. With the advancement to Governor Wolf’s Green Phase, many of our community members are excited to use our facilities once again and we are happy to announce limited access to our exterior amenities.
Facilities such as the track, tennis courts, and playgrounds will now be open to the public when Moon Area athletic teams are not using these areas. To adhere to safety guidelines, we will not permit the public to enter facilities when students and MASD organizations are utilizing these areas.
Internal facilities including gymnasiums, auditoriums, and the natatorium will remain closed to the public at this time.
Community members that choose to use these outdoor facilities will now see signs indicating that use of these areas is at your own risk, meaning the District will not be liable for any injury or illness, including but not limited to COVID-19 symptoms or illness, suffered or contracted after visiting or using these facilities.
We would also like to remind our community members that animals are not permitted on any of our campuses except for service animals. Please also note that campuses are closed for public use when school is in session.
