Brooks Elementary Celebrates Veterans with Heartfelt Tribute

Brooks Elementary School came together to celebrate Veterans Day with a moving assembly honoring 51 veterans from all branches of the U.S. military. Each grade level recognized a branch of service by sharing what they learned and singing a patriotic song.

The assembly also featured beautiful performances by Moon High School students Brea Burke, who played Taps, and Xavier Permar, who performed America the Beautiful alongside 4th-grade students.

Brooks 4th Grade Student Council proudly honored Veterans Day by raising funds for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization to support this year's Field of Flags. Our field of flags shows gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans, while demonstrating community spirit. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and the meaningful impact they made.   They also created hand-painted American flag ornaments as special gifts for the veterans, and handwritten cards.

The celebration ended with the entire school singing Thank You, Soldier, a fitting and emotional tribute to those who have bravely served our country.
