Third Grade Classes “Adopt” Peeps Before Spring Break

Mrs. DeCecco’s and Miss Taylor’s third grade ELA classes at Brooks celebrated the days leading up to Spring Break with a fun and engaging “Peep” adoption activity.

Students each adopted and named their Peeps, incorporating the project into both ELA and Social Studies lessons. As part of their learning, they took a virtual tour of the Peep factory in Bethlehem, connecting the experience to their Pennsylvania Social Studies curriculum.

The activity also supported literacy skills, as students read to their Peeps and wrote personal narratives about them. To make the experience even more memorable, students had fun “feeding” their Peeps jelly beans.

The hands-on activity provided a creative way for students to connect classroom learning with a bit of seasonal fun.
