Fourth Graders Plan and Budget Their Own Thanksgiving Dinner

Mrs. McCleary’s fourth grade English Language Arts class at McCormick Elementary School proudly completed a special project in which they planned and budgeted their own Thanksgiving meal for six guests.

This activity created a meaningful cross-curricular connection to math as students calculated costs, compared prices, and ensured their menus stayed within a budget. To complete the celebration, each student wrote about what it means to be thankful and listed things they appreciate in their lives on a colorful turkey feather.
