MAHS Accounting Students Attend Accounting Career Day

Moon Area High School students in Accounting 1 and College in High School Accounting recently attended Accounting Career Day, which was organized by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). The event was held at Robert Morris University (RMU).

The high school accounting event provided students an opportunity to learn from college students, professors, and accounting professionals. Dr. Joseph Zimmer, RMU Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ira Abdullah, RMU Department Head of Accounting & Taxation, initiated the event.

Jeffrey Deane, Partner at Forvis Mazars, was the keynote speaker. Mr. Deane has worked in the accounting field for over 35 years. RMU President, Dr. Michelle Patrick, also spoke to students about the increasing demand for employment in the accounting career pathway.
