MAHS Jazz Ensemble Performs at State Capitol

Moon Area High School Jazz Ensemble recently traveled to Harrisburg to perform at the Pennsylvania State Capitol East Rotunda. 

The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association sponsored this performance in celebration Music In Our School's Month, which occurs in March. School groups from around the state will be performing during the month of March in the state capitol to celebrate this national celebration of the importance of music in our schools.

The Jazz Ensemble performed an hour of music in the East Wing Rotunda. In addition, students were recognized at a House of Representatives session. They also got to witnessed opening remarks and a live vote.

Students had the opportunity to meet with State Representative The Honorable Valerie Gaydos and State Senator The Honorable Devlin Robinson. Senator Robinson even gave the students a tour of the Senate Chambers. Finally, the students toured the PA Supreme Court Chambers before concluding their visit to the State Capitol.
