MASD School Board Recognizes Unified Partners in Sports

Moon Area School District School Board recently recognized our Unified Partners in Sports athletes, coaches, and buddies for an exceptional year of competition, teamwork, and school pride.

The district also extended its gratitude to West Allegheny School District for hosting a successful season of Unified Sports events. Through these opportunities, students participated in soccer, basketball, and track and field competitions that fostered friendship, inclusion, and meaningful connections among students of all abilities.

Moon Area athletes enjoyed tremendous success throughout the season, earning first-place finishes in both soccer and track and field. Their accomplishments reflected the dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship demonstrated by the team throughout the year.

While the championships were certainly worth celebrating, district leaders emphasized that the true impact of Unified Sports extends far beyond medals and trophies. Unified Sports provides students of all abilities the opportunity to compete together, support one another, and build lasting relationships. The program highlights the values of inclusivity, unity, and partnership while showcasing the power of embracing individual strengths and working toward shared goals.

Throughout the season, Moon Area’s athletes and their buddies exemplified the very best of the district. Their commitment, encouragement, teamwork, and school spirit served as a powerful example of a community built on respect, belonging, and perseverance.
