MASD Students Sign National Letters of Intent (Fall 2022)

The Moon Area School District would like to congratulate the following students on their commitment to collegiate sports in the 2023-2024 school year.

Jacob Puhalla will be attending the University of Louisville for track and field.  He plans to study exercise science and become a physical therapist.  His high school athletic honors include indoor PTFCA 800m champion, WPIAL 800m champion 21-22, soccer 3A WPIAL champion and WPIAL 800m record holder.

Hailey Longwell has committed to Duquesne University to play soccer.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and her high school sports accomplishments include 4A WPIAL champion 2021, WPIAL All Section, All State, Regional All American, and Moe Rosensteel Award Finalist.  She plans to study physical therapy.

Kayla Leseck will be attending Duquesne University to play soccer.  Her high school athletic honors include All-Section, All-WPIAL, four-year letter winner for WPIAL and four-year state championship team, first team Big 56, and a member of the Century Soccer GA League.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and high honor roll and plans to major in biological science and become a nutritionist.

Skylar Leseck has committed to Duquesne University to play soccer.  She is a three-year letter winner, WPIAL and State 4A champion, and member of the Century GA League.  Skylar is on the high honor roll and a member of the National Honor Society.  She plans to study marketing.

Ryan Kopay will be attending the University of Akron to play soccer.  He is a four-year Scholar Athlete, four-year letterman, all-section WPIAL for 3 years, and all-state for 1 year. He plans to pursue a law degree.

Julia Brown has committed to West Virginia University for gymnastics.  She has been a member of the National Honors Society since 2020.  She plans to study nursing.

Christopher Brancato will be attending the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg to play soccer.  He is a four-year letter winner, athlete of the week, all-section player, and is listed in the Finest 15.  He plans to study business and go into real estate.
