MAMS Orchestra Students Spread Holiday Cheer Through Music
The students in the Moon Area Middle School advanced string orchestra, Moon Area Youth Orchestra (MAYO) have been very busy this season. Students in MAYO are in grades 6, 7, and 8th grade and audition to be a part of the ensemble.
This holiday season MAYO traveled to Bon Meade Elementary School to perform a holiday assembly. Students had the opportunity to learn about the string instruments, conduct the orchestra, and sing holiday songs. MAYO also traveled to the Robinson Mall to perform for holiday shoppers, family, and friends.
Last week, along with all the middle school orchestra students, the MAYO students performed a winter concert. During the evening, they played as guests arrived at the concert.
This is an exceptional group of students, and we are proud of the hard work and dedication they have presented in this ensemble!
