MAMS Service Project Success
Moon Area Middle School is proud to report that their Veterans Day service projects were a success!
The first was the annual candy collection for the troops. Fifth and sixth grade students selflessly donated their extra Halloween candy. All candy was sorted, bagged, and boxed for various military troops stationed overseas. More than 20 boxes of candy were donated this year!
MAMS also had a “Stocking Drive” that included staff and all students in grades 5-8. In just one week, hundreds of basic care items were donated to fill more than 400 stockings this holiday season.
The Middle School partnered with two local organizations, Military Mission and the Blue Star Mothers of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Both groups ship to military troops and to various Red Cross stations all over the world in time for the holidays.
The Middle School Social Studies Department would like to thank the students, staff, parents, and Moon community for coming together for such a wonderful cause.
