Red Ribbon Week at the Middle School

Red Ribbon Week at the Middle School

Red Ribbon Week (October 21-25) was a success at Moon Area Middle School!

The Middle School Counseling Department and Student Council partnered to offer activities to students during the week. This year’s national theme was “Life is a Movie, Film Drug-Free.” Many film-related activities were planned for the week.

Students participated in special dress days and created Healthy Selfie “Headshots,” depicting how they make healthy choices in their lives. Each day, student council members read a daily message on the morning announcements encouraging positive choices, and all students signed a banner in a pledge to be healthy and drug-free.

Students also had an opportunity to create an original movie poster on the importance of making positive choices in life. "Swag bag” prizes to were awarded to the top entries.

In addition, students who were dressed for each day’s theme were given time to “walk the red carpet.” Students took photos in front of our own MAMS Red Carpet backdrop with movie-themed props.

Red Ribbon Week Dress Days Included:

  • Monday (10/21)  Living drug-free is the “ticket”
