MASD School Community Rallies Together in Support of Dom Oesterling

The MASD school community recently came together in a powerful display of strength and unity to support Dom Oesterling, a 5th grade student who is facing a difficult battle.

Middle School students on the Penguins Team surprised Dom at school by wearing DOM STRONG shirts—an incredible sight that filled the halls with encouragement and solidarity. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous family, every single student received a shirt, ensuring that no one was left out of the movement to stand behind Dom.

Following the surprise, the school gathered in the cafeteria to celebrate with donuts, creating a moment filled with joy, friendship, and community spirit.

The idea to rally around Dom came from the Moon football program. Dom's brother, Chris Miller, is a member of the team. The football players and coaches wanted Dom and his family to feel the support of the school community.

This simple but powerful act of kindness made a lasting impact, surrounding Dom with love and support from his classmates, teachers, and the entire school family. The event was a true reminder of the strength that comes from standing together.

Thank you to our Moon football program as well as the teachers on the Penguins Team for making this incredible moment possible.
