Coffee Shop Success

Thank you to the Moon Area School District community for their support of our MAHS coffee shop this summer! We sincerely appreciate our school community and their incredible support of our students! 

What makes the MAHS coffee shop truly special is its mission: bringing together our general education and life skills students to work side-by-side, building vocational skills, fostering inclusion, and serving up smiles.

The Moon Area High School student run coffee shop is an inclusive initiative providing students, particularly those in the life skills program, with meaningful career-based learning opportunities.

In partnership with Coffee Tree Roasters (CTR), this program integrates hands-on business management, customer service, and teamwork experience, preparing all students for diverse post-graduation paths. This partnership results in a work-based learning program to provide valuable job training and employment skills to students with and without disabilities.

With a focus on transition, this inclusive program helps prepare students for life after graduation, including expanding the exposure general education students to job opportunities in the special education field. In addition, this partnership offers real-world learning by equipping students with the resources to manage the coffee shop, track inventory, provide sales reports, order supplies, train student employees, create various visual media, and more.
