MASD Announces New Assistant Superintendent

Moon Area School District is excited to announce Dr. Jason D’Alesio is the new Assistant Superintendent.

Dr. D’Alesio is a familiar face around Moon Area School District. He began his career in 2003 as a day-to-day substitute at Moon. He then became a long-term substitute at MAMS before becoming a fourth grade teacher in 2004. Following his time in the classroom, he became the Assistant Principal at the High School and ultimately served as the Assistant Principal of the Middle School before being promoted to the Assistant Superintendent.

“I am proud to say that I have had the amazing opportunity to work at all three levels in our district; elementary, middle school, and high school,” said Dr. D’Alesio. “I have been able to see firsthand the amazing staff and students we have here at Moon, and I am excited to take the next step in my career to help our students become successful in whatever path they choose. My goal for all students is for them to realize the value in hard work and to have the self-confidence needed to pursue their passion.”

Dr. D’Alesio earned his bachelor's in Multi-Disciplinary Studies from West Virginia University. He also earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education as well as a master’s degree in Educational Leadership Studies K-12 from West Virginia University.  Most recently, Dr. D’Alesio earned his doctorate in Leadership and Administration from Point Park University.
