MASD Hosts Regional PA Principals Association Meeting

MASD Hosts Regional PA Principals Association Meeting Moon Area School District (MASD) hosted the West III Regional Service Session (RSS) of the Pennsylvania Principals Association on March 26 at the high school. The event brought together school leaders from across Western PA for a day of collaboration and professional learning.

Guest speakers included Dr. Carrie Rowe, Pennsylvania Secretary of Education, and Amy Lena, Deputy Secretary for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. Their session, “Policy to Practice: What Principals Need to Know,” focused on current state mandates, initiatives, and legislative updates impacting schools.

Additional sessions included “Appreciation & Signature Services,” presented by Mike Allison, West II RSS representative, and updates on upcoming professional development opportunities shared by Dr. Lori Pavlik, West III State Director.

The event also provided an opportunity to showcase the incredible work taking place at Moon Area. One highlight was a spotlight presentation featuring the MAHS Coffee Shop. Mrs. Nicole Hegerich, MAHS Assistant Principal, shared insights into this innovative program and highlighted how MASD is creating meaningful, real-world learning opportunities for students.

The event was sponsored by Dr. Eric Eshbach, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Principals Association; Mike Lewis, West III State Director; Carol Sprinker, West III RSS representative; and Amy Abraham of the K-12 Coalition. It brought together educational leaders from Allegheny County school districts and representatives from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, including Dr. Jill Jacoby and Brian Stamford. MASD was honored to host this important regional gathering and proud to support ongoing collaboration among educational leaders.
