Moon Community Celebrates Groundbreaking at Tiger Stadium

Moon Area School District (MASD) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, March 10 to commence and celebrate the construction of various stadium renovations.

This project includes construction and renovations to our athletic facility, press box, field house, and tennis courts. The 50,000 square-foot athletic facility will feature an indoor turf field, elevated walking track, weight room, simulator room, locker room, trainer room, board room with executive sessions room, and concessions stands. The 5,700 square-foot press box includes a faculty development room, press area, announcer area, home and away coaches’ room, and filming platforms. Renovations to the 15,000 square-foot field house will include updates to locker rooms, coaches and official office, and more.

Moon Area School District staff, students, parents, school board members and community members gathered for the official Groundbreaking Ceremony on March 10. The program began with two songs performed by the Moon Area High School Marching Band. Following the musical opening, Dr. Jason D’Alesio, MASD Superintendent, welcomed attendees, thanked the many people who helped make this project possible and shared a little bit about the project. Mr. David White, MASD School Board president, also spoke about the positive impact this project will have on both our students and school community for generations to come.

School administrators and school board members then officially broke ground. The ceremony concluded with one final song from the marching band.

The athletic facility improvements at Moon Area School District represent a transformational investment in student growth, wellness, and opportunity. These upgrades foster a culture of excellence, safety, inclusion, and opportunity, empowering MASD students to grow as athletes, musicians, leaders, and well-rounded individuals.
