New School Visits for Elementary Students

New School Visits for Elementary Students

Dear MASD Elementary Families,

As part of our redistricting plan for the 2025-2026 school year, we want to ensure that elementary students who will be transitioning to a new school have an opportunity to visit their future school before the start of the new school year. We will have multiple opportunities for this to occur. Our first series of scheduled student visits will be on March 27 and March 28 for those impacted by the redistricting plan.

On March 27, kindergarten and first grade students affected by redistricting will visit their new school. On March 28, second and third grade students impacted by redistricting will have their opportunity to visit their new school. The MASD elementary redistricting plan is available on our website.

Students will be transported by bus at approximately 9:00 AM and will return to their current school around 11:00 AM. During their visit, they will engage in a variety of activities such as meeting their new principal, interacting with their future classmates, touring the school, and other fun activities to help them feel comfortable in their new school.

This visit is only for students who will be attending a new school next year due to redistricting. The families of students who will be impacted by the elementary redistricting plan have been notified. If your child is not impacted by the redistricting plan, they will remain at their current school and will not participate in the visits.

We understand that transitioning to a new school can be a significant change for students and families, and we are committed to making this process as smooth and welcoming as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your building principal.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make this transition a positive experience for all students.

Sincerely,

Barry Balaski
