PSSA Information for Families of Students in Grades 3-8
Dear MASD Families of Students in Grades 3-8,
As we approach tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23rd, we want to ensure that every student is set up for success for the start of the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) testing. A well-rested mind and body play a crucial role in academic performance, and we kindly ask for your support in helping your child prepare for these important assessments.
To help your child do their best on the PSSA’s, please consider the following:
- Get Plenty of Rest: A good night’s sleep is essential for focus, memory, and overall performance.
- Eat a Healthy Breakfast: A nutritious breakfast fuels the brain and helps with concentration.
- Arrive on Time: Being on time reduces stress and ensures a smooth start to the day.
- Encourage a Positive Mindset: Confidence and a positive attitude can make a big difference. Remind your child to do their best, take their time, and use the strategies they’ve learned in class.
- Avoid Scheduling Appointments: If possible, please avoid scheduling doctor or dental appointments during testing times to prevent missed assessments and make-up sessions.
We appreciate your partnership in ensuring our students feel confident and prepared. If you have any questions regarding the PSSA schedule or testing procedures, please contact your child’s school.
Thank you.
