Hyde Elementary School celebrated Accelerated Reader (AR) achievements on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at their assembly.
The students earn points in the program by reading books at their reading level and passing comprehension tests. Students have been accumulating points since the contest began in mid-September.
Students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at Hyde Elementary have been participating in a school-wide AR program. Students who reached 25, 50, 75, 100, and 200+ point levels were acknowledged at a building assembly where they received certificates of accomplishment and coupons to redeem on books at the upcoming Scholastic Book fair.
Scholastic book dollars were made possible thanks to a generous donation by the Pittsburgh branch of Lincoln Investment. Lincoln Investment representatives were present at the assembly to award students. Branch manager, Scott Accamando, who attended the assembly, is also a Hyde alumnus.
So far, 24 students reached 25 points; 5 students reached 50 points; 5 earned 75 points; and 3 reached over 100 points!
Fourth grader, Camille Luster, received special recognition for reaching over 250 AR points so far this school year!
